Nice info for the harried GM

I have been playing D&D and other RPGs for around thirty years now. So, technically I didn't need this book - but it contains many nuggets of information on world building, handling difficult players, treasure distribution, etc. so I got it nonetheless. The book is wonderful, well-written, concise, and beautifully laid out. I especially like the dozens of pre-made NPCs included. They form a list of the various commonly encountered NPCs that every GM will need during the course of a given game night - characters like the barmaid, street thief, cultist, and bandit, all rendered in glorious detail.

The only complaint I have is the treasure tables. I was hoping for a quick treasure generator, something to come up with non-magic, non-gold piece treasure in detail - the old D&D 3.5 DMG had such tables, and I use them often. But this is a small concern, and easily overlooked.

This is an excellent resource material for any budding GM. Buy this now.

It is a must buy

This is the 2nd time I have brought this book, I gave the first to my cousin. I have researched the subject of dreams by God for nearly a year straight, therefore, I have exhausted the market. It is the best for a quick resource and has many definitions, that the other misses. The best book is the Divinity Code by Thompson and Beale. These two in combination, will give you a fairly extensive vocabulary and both are God inspired, in my opinion.

Must have for christians

I am a christian and dream alot and remember alot of my dreams without me writing them down. When i got this book I went straight to the dream definitions. I tested myself to see if i could interprete the meaning of the symbols and i was so shocked to get all the symbols correct. Now my confidence in interpreting dreams is so confident. God led me to get this book to give me the confidence I needed. The answer to dreams are within every person. I had a dream a few days ago about a friend that I have not been talking to about a month. in the dream he was sitting on his bed looking out in his room focused on me. I had a kettle of hot water that started boiling. I was busy changing the babies diaper and started getting frustratd with the kettle whistle. MY friend got up from his bed and went to take the kettle off for me. When I got up I understood the dream so I looked up water to make sure I was right. And I was right. Boiling water is your emotions. I was angry with my friend and he was giving me space to calm down. A day after having this dream he called me to apologize to me. He calmed the boiling emotions. God is real and he talks to his children in different ways. The Holy spirit within us brings everything to light. This books discusses all of this. This books does not want you to be dependent on it but shows you how to get the answers to your dreams yourself. Two people can have similar dream but can have different meaning to the dreamer. The answer is within you. Let this book guide you because it is not going to give you every dream symbol but just a few. Their are millions trillion of symnols God can use to talk to us.

This book is fun and provides the reader with the biblical understanding on how to interpret dreams.
so it is totally biblical based , not some worldly interpretation.
Also there is a section where you can find about your dream symbols and etc.
It is pretty easy to read and fun at the same time.

About the Author

Born in Hanover, Germany in 1928, Gerhard L. Weinberg spent from 1939 until September 1940 in England. He moved to the USA and in 1944. He worked on the War Documentation Project, establishing the project for microfilming and studying captured German documents. He has taught at the Universities of Kentucky, Michigan, and North Carolina, retiring in 1999. Weinberg has held numerous positions in professional organizations and has served on and chaired a number of US government advisory committees. His books have earned him a number of prizes, fellowships, and two honorary doctoral degrees.

A clear and revealing overview, valuable even to those who have studied the war

I've read scores of books about World War II, including Weinberg's A World at Arms: A Global History of World War II, which is the best single-volume history. Nothing this book covers was new to me, and yet I found it consistently interesting and revealing. Inevitably a book this brief can offer no more than the barest sketch of so broad a topic as the Second World War, but a sketch by a master such as Weinberg has its own special value, providing a clear view of the underlying structure neither distorted nor obscured by the mass of detail in a work such as A World at Arms. Weinberg is particularly good at drawing out the linkages and tradeoffs that connect seemingly separate theaters and operations, emphasizing that the war is more than a simple sum of separate parts. Seventeen high-quality sketch maps at an appropriate level of detail make it easy to follow the flow of the operations the book describes. There are no notes and one sometimes wonders about the basis for a particular judgment, but the sound and well-considered guide to further reading is helpful.

About the Author
Dr. Rod Seeley holds a B.S. in Zoolgy from Idaho State University and an M.S. and Ph.D. in Zoology from Utah State University. By being very involved in the methods and mechanism that help students learn, Rod contributes with his teaching expertise and proven ability to communicate effectively.

Cinnamon L. VanPutte has been teaching biology and human anatomy and physiology for almost two decades. At Southwestern Illinois College she is a full-time faculty member and the coordinator for the anatomy and physiology courses. Cinnamon is an active member of several professional societies, including the Human Anatomy & Physiology Society (HAPS). Her Ph.D. in zoology, with an emphasis in endocrinology, is from Texas A&M University. She worked in Dr. Duncan MacKenzie’s lab, where she was indoctrinated in the major principles of physiology and the importance of critical thinking. The critical thinking component of Seeley’s Essentials of Human Anatomy & Physiology epitomizes Cinnamon’s passion for the field of human anatomy and physiology; she is committed to maintaining this tradition of excellence. Cinnamon and her husband, Robb, have two children: a daughter, Savannah, and a son, Ethan. Savannah is very creative and artistic; she loves to sing, write novels, and do art projects. Robb and Ethan have their black belts in karate and Ethan is one of the youngest black belts at his martial arts school. Cinnamon is also active in martial arts and is a competitive Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu practitioner. She has competed at both the Pan Jiu-Jitsu Championship and the World Jiu-Jitsu Championship.

Andrew F. Russo has over 20 years of classroom experience with human physiology, neurobiology, molecular biology, and cell biology courses at the University of Iowa. He is a recipient of the Collegiate Teaching Award and is currently the course director for Medical Cell Biology and Director of the Biosciences Graduate Program. He is also a member of several professional societies, including the American Physiological Society and the Society for Neuroscience. Andrew received his Ph.D. in biochemistry from the University of California at Berkeley. His research interests are focused on the molecular neurobiology of migraine. His decision to join the author team for Seeley’s Essentials of Human Anatomy & Physiology is the culmination of a passion for teaching that began in graduate school. He is excited about the opportunity to hook students’ interest in learning by presenting cutting-edge clinical and scientific advances. Andy is married to Maureen, a physical therapist, and has three daughters Erilynn, Becky, and Colleen, now in college and graduate school. He enjoys all types of outdoor sports, especially bicycling, skiing, ultimate Frisbee and, before moving to Iowa, bodyboard surfing.

For over 15 years, Jennifer has taught introductory biology, human anatomy and physiology, and genetics at the university and community college level. She has received the Instructor of the Year Award at both the departmental and college level while teaching at USM. In addition, she has been recognized for her dedication to teaching by student organizations such as the Alliance for Graduate Education in Mississippi and Increasing Minority Access to Graduate Education. Jennifer has dedicated much of her career to improving lecture and laboratory instruction at her institutions. Critical thinking and lifelong learning are two characteristics Jennifer hopes to instill in her students. She appreciates the Seeley approach to learning and is excited about contributing to further development of the textbook. She received her PH.D. in biology at the University of Houston, under the direction of Edwin H. Bryant and Lisa M. Meffert. She is an active member of several professional organizations, including the Human Anatomy and Physiology Society. During her free time, Jennifer enjoys spending time with her husband, Hobbie, and two sons, Patrick and Nicholas.

Hard slog as an overview, but provides good depth for the dedicated student

I read a lot of nerdy climate blogs, and have a heavy undergraduate-level background in geological science, so I used this textbook to get a better understanding of atmospheric composition and dynamics. Without guidance, I found some of the graphs a bit obscure, and know that several concepts would be much easier to grasp with animation. (It didn't help that the older graphs had been converted from grayscale to color, without updating the descriptive legend.)

Since it's from 2009, I wouldn't use it as a climate change knowledge base, as the science has exploded in data and understanding in the past 5 years.

An excellent text about a very complex and increasingly important topic

This book begins with an excellent summary of the basic ideas and importance of meteorology. it
then goes into detail about the many aspects of the subject in words, graphics and tables. The book
requires serious work on the part of the reader--as any good textbook does. For the book to be useful
to the reader it requires basic under standing of several aspects of physics, chemistry, and geography.
