This book has excellent details and pictures

This book has excellent details and pictures. It was easy to read it in a few hours, and the pictures are really essential here. I will qualify my review with that I haven't engaged in any chainsaw milling, and decided to outsource to someone with a bandsaw mill, but I feel much more educated in that decision. I do think a second edition that would address some of the newly available chains would be useful (since things have changed in the 30+ years since its publication). Even though it is old, I still think much of the information is highly relevant.

Great information, solid font but some unlegible illustrations

January 2017: The PUBLISHING company's illustrations are simply unsatisfactory. Many of the how to snapshots of Will in this book are not transparent. Good information. Bad print job.

There needs to be more books such as this to get free-thinking Americans doing stuff again!
Well written, and very fun to read....the photo's were okay and showed enough to get a fella by with. But it was written some time back....and photography was probably not as advanced.
